EJ20TT into Brumby -Can I make it a EJ20

Howdy,
I have a EJ20TT Jap import Donk sitting in the shed for about 9 months now. I pulled it from an import front cut. The old ea81 boat anchor is struggling with the 200km per day trip to work and back. Since I have everything from the front cut, though might as well put it to use. I don't want to install the turbo's. Can I simply unbolt and remove everything associated with the turbo's and run the motor as more or less an ej20? I have the Loom and ecu that came with the ej22tt front cut, if I do install the donk with the turbo's removed, can I still use the factory ecu or do I need to source one fron a factory ej20?

completely different engine mate. so no you can't run it as an NA

sell the TT gear and buy yourself a cheap EJ20 / 22. The money you make from that deal will pay for all the extra stuff you need for the conversion

You would essentially be running a low compression all the time, that in itself would be a dog. I would have thought all would work without turbos so long as it was plumbed right. Ges, it would tease the ECU waiting for boost

whats the downside to leaving the turbos on?

No probs in leaving turbo's on, was going to keep ea gearbox for now, running twin turbo's would certainly kill it! I am not sure if there is enough room for the right hand turbo (Passenger side). Has anyone seen or heard of a ej20tt in a brumby?

Im gonna sell the EJ20TT with ecu, loom, and boxes of bits and pieces to get an EJ20....... Nice and easy conversion and done heaps quicker.......

Yep, it is possible. I did one and also converted a twin turbo brumby to single turbo. There is enough room for the second turbo. Just search this site for EJ to Brumby (EA) conversion and you should find pretty well all you need.
