Hey all,
I just got a Subaru Liberty 1995 LX gen2 as my first car.
Got her for $600 only because she had a blown head gasket.
But now I want to do up the engine bay a bit.
I was looking on eBay at radiator pipes, injectors, fuel rails, silicone intake pipes, extractors, pulley systems, timing belts etc.
The only problem, is that they say "Suits EJ20"
They all have descriptions like GC8 or GDB etc, and I'm not sure what it means?
I don't mean to sound stupid, but before I buy any parts, I want to make sure they will suit my EJ22?:???:
Cheers,
Jimmy.

GC, GD form part of the VIN, indicating model (Impreza), body, engine, etc.

I've taken timing pulleys, belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat and housing, rad hoses, inlet manifold, injectors and rails, alternator, power steering pump and brackets, cam sprockets, crank pulley and rocker covers off a 1996 Impreza EJ18 engine and put them all straight onto a 1992 EJ22. EJ20 will be the same.

Most gaskets and seals in the engines are interchangeable, but head gaskets must match the bigger bore of the 2.2

thanks for the help Dane!
Is the EJ22 top feed or side feed injectors?

Umm, you've got me there. The injectors have the fuel rail connected to each side, and an electrical connector on the top - does that make them side feed?

Dane is correct above.

Depends which "EJ20" it is, if its EJ20 with turbo then its different, if its plain EJ20 then it should be compatible - but check before buy, if in doubt ask subaru.

EJ22s are Side feed injectors.

Cheers for the help dane and AP.
The radiator hose kit I'm looking at state the following: "SUBARU IMPREZA GC8 EJ20 STI WRX GT VERS3~6 96-00 kit" and the induction pipe also states its for a GC8.
Is the GC8 turbo or non turbo?
the induction pipe doesn't look the same as the stock one.
Cheers.
