EJ22 cold start trouble
EJ22 cold start trouble
on cold mornings the motor takes several attempts to start, sometimes over a minute of intermittent cranks.
have cleaned MAF wire element. checked plugs and leads, used injector cleaner.
valve seals are worn and not sure about coil packs and oxy sensor.
any suggestions?

is the crank sensor in good condition? Is the battery working well? Same with starter motor. I would be checking the starter motor area, if you have a spare one swap it over see how it goes.

It sounds to me like the sense wire from the starter to the ecu is not connected. Also could be a fuel pressure thing or even an ecu thing.
When you try to start it, turn the ingition on and wait until you hear the fuel pump relay click off. Turn the ignition off and then back on again. Wait until you hear the pump relay stop again and then try to start it.
Big question is, has it alwasys been like this since the conversion?
