Can I Have My Rear Wheel Drive Back Plz?

Post by amk » Fri Jun 12, 2009 4:36 am

Got an EJ20G running in my Leone with an STi competition gearbox, like I said in my previous posts I was using the rear diff to run the car, my front shafts broke so was on rear wheel drive.

Now I fitted the STi gearbox connected the rear diff like before but the car would hardly move so I noticed I need to connect the front shafts since the gearbox is AWD.
After fitting the front shafts I took her on the road but the she feels so rough when I try pushing the car it tends to pull on one side when I let go it suddenly pulls to the other.
I
n short I don’t like the AWD I want my rear wheel drive back.

I was thinking if I remove the front shafts and find a way to lock them completely so they don’t rotate, would this make my car rear wheel drive? meaning would the power transfer to the rear diff?

Would this damage my gearbox?

What are the Pros and Cons?

Basically I want my rear wheel drive back with what I have installed…

Need help,

Thanks.

you will have to replace the centre diff with a spool like this

When you fitted the STI gearbox did you change the rear diff so the ratio's match?
If not it would explain the way it's acting.
The STI box can not be run rear wheel drive unless you do as suggested...

Either do what point said or just weld up the centre diff..

p.s. if you are gonna weld your centre diff, don't f**k your good one, ill swap you with an old one of mine.. :)

yeh your diff would be the wrong ratio and that is not good to drive on it like that. get the right diff.
