dual range AWD not quite selecting

When I pull up the selector it doesn't quite engage dual range on my gearbox. It's a Liberty dual range box running in my brumby. The problem seems to be that the cable has stretch slightly or something along those lines.

I can reach in through the engine and use my finger to click it manually the few millimeters it seems to miss.

Anyone seen this before and able to offer an easy fix ?

Is there no adjuster in the line somewhere?! If not that's crazy, there should be room to adjust the linkage.

If you've used your standard brumby 4wd selector, remove the passenger seat and the centre console, the lever is slotted and adjustment may be made here to solve the problem.

Cheers

might just need to get another cable.

unless something is restricting its movement

What happens is the small plastic bushes in the ends of the cable wear and fall out which makes selecting between high and low an issue. Early setups had no adjustment in them and later ones have an adjustable thread at the gearbox end. With yours you have a few choices, one get new bushes, two allow the lever in cab end have more travel by grinding the limit tabs back a bit, three make the lever in the car have and adjustable strock to allow for future cable wear.

that sounds exactly like what it's doing. Don't suppose you know the bush part number? :D
