Replacing front cv's

Sure this is be a dumb question! i have two spare rear drive shafts complete with cv's. Can use the cv's on the front as i need new ones?

I believe you can use rear inner CV joints as replacements for front inner CV joints...but I would need somebody to confirm this, I'm not 100% sure. It might just be the boots that are the same.
