Manual on me auto????

Post by Shark » Tue Oct 14, 2008 3:13 am

Yep im all confused again, after having a chat with suba regarding the auto we use in our cars, the 4.44 ratio ones off a single trubo. sorry thats as much as i know. Mike you said that you can drive yours like a manual with the manual button pushed in.

Well on mine the light doesnt come on when you push the button.. If you hold it in first it will change into 2nd no matter if its on manual or normal auto.. If you have it in second it wont change into third which sounds right but if you push the button for manual mode it wont change, it sits on rev limiter like normal...until u back off the juice...

Is it possible the manual part of the auto is not setup?? Is it supposed to be like driving a manual without the clutch, it changes when u want it to??

manual mode on.

shifter in 1st: car will hold first gear until it hits redline then will shift to preserve the engine

shifter in second:
car will take off in second gear (great for reducing wheelspin on ice / slippery mud)

shifter in third:
car will take off in second gear then shift to third

shifter in fourth: no effect

Thanks matey:D Vince since you seems to know heaps about these things do you know if there is any adjustment you can do to get it to change from 2nd to third without backing off the throttle... Just sits on rev limiter at the moment.. First to second hits rev limiter once and then changes..

Cheers bud

no mate there is no adjustment. it should be shifting before it hits the limiter. neil must have a weird combination of ECU / TCU in there. Ask him about it.
