Finally got the roll pins out of the gearbox end and have knocked out the right drive shaft from the hub.
Unexpectedly, the inner front wheel bearing came out with the shaft. doh!
Since this my first shaft replacement, not sure if that is supposed to happen.
So now I need to know if the the bearing can be easily removed from the shaft or if I've stuffed it by belting it out?

It's common for the shaft to seize a little to the bearings if they've been in there a looong time. That said, spray it with WD40 and leave it for a few minutes to soak in and it should be fine to remove. I've not had this happen with mine, the bearings should stay in the hub but, like I said, they could be rather dried out thanks to not having much attention to lubrication over years. Once you've knocked the bearing free, check it for lubrication condition and any free play/grit etc, and if it's dryor gritty then just toss it and get new ones. They don't cost much and for the same price you have two options - with or without a rubber side seal.. get those instead of the ones that are open on the sides as this will help greatly in keeping dust and water out and last longer.

I'd just remove the strut foot and fit a new bearing kit to it . Reasonably easy reasonably cheap . If not too sure just take the foot to any mechanical workshop with the bearing kit and say please fit . About 15 to 20 minutes - done .
I don't muck about with tired wheel bearings because they can turn ugly and bite you badly . For the costs involved it's just not worth it .
