Check out the Tech manual - I remember there being an article on how to weld a rear diff. I believe it is best to remove it from the subi before you weld it...

yeah i just welded the diff while it was in the car , easy to do. now its like im driving a tractor nothing can stop me hahah

hope the weld holds lol.
ill be taking the 5mm of the spline to allow the shaft to be taken out with ease.

took the 5mm of the shaft to allow removal, you can still get around in the easy stuff with just one shaft in, its only alittle bit worse then both with an open diff. just gotta remember to try and keep the pass wheel on the ground lol.

well all i have to say after the long weekend down the south coast playing in the mountains is holly crap lol , i could climb every thing my brother could in his 3l hilux, just the lack of traction because i had pretty much blad 13" tyres stopped me. but i was very impressed . ill post up some videos and pictures soon. now i need some 14" and body lift. the welded diff went well didnt break and i drove it about 20kms on the road in the rain back to camp since it was dark and wet . but it does sound like i have a busted cv up front lol
