Strange Noises

MY 92 BRUMBY 4 SPD. EVERY TIME I CHANGE GEARS 1,2,3. THERE IS A HIGH PITCH WINDING NOISE. IT FIRST BEGAN WHEN I DROVE IT HARD....SILLY, I KNOW. IT IS A VERY WEIRD NOISE, ALMOST LIKE......THIS SOUNDS STUPID, LIKE A SUPER CHARGER UNDER THE HOOD.

does it happen when you push the clutch in?

Thrust bearing , pull the box out and replace the thrust bearing , cheap and relitivly easy job.

Yeah thats right. It might be worthwhile replace the clutch while the box is removed, saves headache later. Otherwise you can just replace the bearing itself. If it was me i'll buy clutch kit and replace whole kit.

Alpine Raven. Yes It Makes A Noise When You Push In The Cluch.
:???:Question.... Is The Price Of A 5 Spd Conversion In The Same League As A New Clutch Kit And The Rest?.....should I Just Get A 5 Spd Now?

Get a L series 5 speed, I picked one up for $100 place a wanted ad on the foum some one will have one.

You will also need an An L clutch cable as the release is on the other side of centre line. L clutch plate is different to the MY clutch plate, you will also need an L series tailshaft. You will also need to match the box ratio with the diff raito. If you get stuck give us a ring.
