Rear diff stub axles removal

Can anyone explain how the flinking blip I get the stub axles out of a normal brumby rear diff in order to do the LSD centre swap. I have tried undoing the bolts that run through the centre of the axles with the correct torque socket and succeeded only in shearing the head off. I have tried drillling the remaining head off and still the little sod won't come out. Am i missing something like a circlip or something on the inside?

Cheers,

John

Inside the stub axle has torx head on it - tool you're required is shown here:

You'll need to remove that first before removing the axles. The worst case is breaking them and in the past what I've done is I just cut the axles off and get a couple of axles from wreckers (that were easier to remove) and replaced them.

Cheers mate. Have unfortunately got the tool you show and without much effort sheared the head of the bolt clean off. Any other ideas short of cuting the axles off?
