Hi i have a 91 l series and a I am wordering what engine coversion would be the best to use with the standard l series 4wd gearbox i have been cosidering a ej20 non turbo any advice and a rough price estimate would be greatly appriciated. :)

ej22 would be better...you can buy adaptors thru the board to be able to use your old running gear...

EJ22 gives u a little more power but not much difference. Overall you are probably better off getting an EJ20 because all the EJ22's are starting to get abit old these days.

Being in NSW, an EJ20 would be your best bet as you will need an engineers cert if you go any bigger than 2L

Check your local RTA for conversion with minimal engineers cert. For me I'd go for EJ22 over EJ20, but if you could get late EJ20 then thats good.

Either of the EJ non turbo engines are the go, try to get one with the lowest amount of Ks on it. Beware that if you get a post 2000 model engine and electrical that you will need the ignition barrel and the key to suit the ECu other wise it wont fire.
