can anyone tell me if they made a lsd rear end in an ea81 if so dose anyone no where i can get 1

its just an r160 diff

so you can make anything fit of that size, L series, wrx, rs, all the usual suspects

thanks is there a way to tell what diff ratio i'm running in the front so i can match them up

Theres a sticker on the rear diff of my L that has the ratio, im guessing it's on the my's too?

just had a look and the sitcker is gone. all that i can find written on the diff is756 83 z kn26. does this mean anything to anyone

you can either pul the rear cover off the diff and count the number of teeth 37=3.7 and 39=3.9

or you can jack the back of the car off the ground and put a mark on the wheel and the tailshaft
then you just count the number of turns it takes the tailshaft to spin the wheels once

eg 3.7 turns of the tailshaft to make the wheels turn once = 3.7:1 ratio


or you can just replace the diff centre with a LSD one

You forgot to add that later model R160's (95 onwards or something) don't have stub shafts on the diff, they have the stub on the driveshafts joint. I think the joints are different too so it would require some driveshaft modification (chop and weld I assume) to fit on of these diffs in a narrower track EA81 car.

ta think i'l pull the back of the diff of and count it this weekend. would change the diff centre aswell but things are a bit tight with the cash flow at the moment

so are there anydirect swaps for a l series to get a lsd happening this is just my daily i dont want to spend time customizing stuff to fit

A CLSD from an 85-89 Subaru RX should bolt right in. (not sure on the exact years the RX came out but someone will correct me.)
