Good question Suparoo. I seem to remember(?? - I could be wrong have not checked) Disco put the 'sports' or high flow Tridon thermostat (TT2041-170) in, perhaps now with the new radiator it needs the recommended one (TT2041-185)?Suparoo wrote:Dont you have a thermostat?

Yes I'd always run a thermostat , you really need its shroud even if you remove the valve section for a competition application .
Yep I run the Tridon larger valve size thermostat in from memory 170 F/76 C .
I'm not worried about the heater because I can rug up if it gets cold which IMO in Sydney it doesn't very often . It blows warmish air just not real hot , enough to demist the screen which is my No1 heater priority .
I'm not so sure its a "sports" thermostat , I do vaguely remember removing a very OE looking large valve thermostat from one of my spider manifolds when I got it . Maybe Vortex XT4s had the larger valve standard and Tridon copied it as a low volume option .
Cheers A .
