spark plugs

Post by rob83ke70 » Sun Jul 20, 2008 8:19 am

anyone out there with an ea82 engine, what spark plugs are you all running? i have the stock bp6e's in the car, but i'm thinking perhaps i need to go a range hotter. i put 20,000km on my car on a new set of plugs and they started to foul and missfire under load. I live in a cold climate and although I do let it warm up a few minutes with the auto choke on in the morning before I go driving off (otherwise its really boggy) I'm lucky to reach operating temperature before I get to work. I don't live far enough away from work...

I recently put in (as an experiment) a set of plugs from a TS Astra, twin ground electrode (had only done 30k, but owner wanted them changed). Has never ran better. When they eventually wear out in about 50000km, I'll be putting in a new set of same. ;)

Something like this would suit your EA82 as well.
Regards

Gary ;)

I will be putting in a better set of plugs, new leads, dizzy cap and rotor, and a high power coil sometime soon. Will see how it goes particually with fuel consumption.
