Lib rear driveshaft measurements
I'm after the following measurements from the later model plug type rear driveshafts:
1) distance from the end of the shaft to the snap ring groove (I think it's different on each side)
2) diameter of snap ring groove/snap ring
I need to mod the output stubs on my L series to fit the later VLSD diffs.
Thanks!

Hope its enough - I didnt realise that left and right are different length - the rusty wheel hub side is from drivers side (I remember clearly because I had trouble removing it)
Any more questions - let me know.

If you use the lib diff you have to use the lib tailshaft, or change the thing that the tail shaft connects to on the diff to the L series one. L series tailshaft will fit AWD box. Either tailshaft will have to be modified to be the correct overall length.
If the diff has male output stubs, L series shafts will fit fine. If you have the stubless diff like mine, the only options that I know of are custom driveshafts or mod a pair of stubs to fit the diff by machining in a snap ring groove.

Thats right, otherwise you could change the flange from L series/Liberty type, both are different sizes.
Gen1 & Gen2 Liberty has different size flange. You will need a press and rattle hammer to undo the nut & press to remove the flange.
L series is the same as Gen1 Liberty.

Had a look in the garage. Liberty has bigger stub axle than L series. But I'm not sure about the hub.
Its a possible that you could mix up the CV joints to fit? I cannot answer that - only way is to muck around..
