HELP! - re: spark plug

Post by smoov » Fri Dec 16, 2005 4:20 pm

Spark plug on cylinder no 2 was significantly loose.

even if i tried to tighten it a bit, you could hear that sound of gasses coming out.

i put in a spark plug repair kit, basically tap and re-threaded the head, and inserted a sleeve onto the spark plug. i applied liberal amounts of grease onto the tap, in an effort to catch as much of the aluminium shavings as I could.

car runs, no noise from around the spark plug, but there is a little evidence of gases coming out, using a little WD40, there were bubbles forming around the plug.

im out of ideas (and luck). what can I do now?

time for a forester me thinks.

Wow, you're very unlucky with that car!

I don't supose some high temp silicon would help? It did wonders on my exhaust on the old MY.
