EJ auto shifter ?'s

ej auto shifter has a switch the activates at park only what does this control?i thought the park nuetral switch was down at the box at the where the cable mounts.There is also what appears to be a solnoid that won't let you out of park unless activated.Do i need this or can i remove it what is it for?

its a jap thing - you have to press the lever on the shifter to release it from park.

just remove it all together. I had to pull it out of scotts car when he had his conversion done.
