Urgent help wanted

Post by DavesB4 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 4:04 pm

Hello

I am in desperate need of a serviceable turbocharger to fit to an EA82T.

Ideally I would like to be able to pick one up somewhere in Western Sydney tonight.

Either buy or even borrow (or even rent?) would be a great help. Ican return it if necessary next week. I need to get a car mobile and usable for the next couple of days where it is (about 2-3 hours from here).

Can anyone help me? - give me a call on 0418 25 1308 if you can

MY13 Outback - The new blue one.
MY99 Outback - As it's maker intended - but with a fresher engine now.
1994 RS Turbo - Not quite so stock! And freshly repainted now :)
And then there's the family Vortex - rebuilt, updated and now unregistered and gathering dust in the shed.
:D

OK whatcha bought ?

I have seen a Volvo fitted with a turbo - rejected at rego for no engineer certificate (1970 model ? ) overnight the owner removed his turbo and made up a metal section to take the place of the turbo, drove back for a non turbo rego check, a week later it was flyin' down the road again :)

Moral of the story - can you do similar?

Sounds like his Votex is stuck somewhere with a blown turbo. I wish I could help you out Dave but I'm all NA.
I can lend my hands though if that's of any help however I'm not free till Monday night.

 Bingo - stuck with a blown turbo.

Thanks for all your offers but we have given up on the rescue now. It was traveling to a remote location for a special reason and the turbo seals failed and it disgraced itself all over the freeway with a massive smokescreen. It has been collected on a truck and will be trucked back to Sydney early next week. Then we will need to work out how we are going to repair it again. There is a car show planned for the middle of November and it is planned to be in Motorfest in Sydney on Australia Day - so we do need to get it sorted.

I'll have my eyes open for any serviceable and reasonably priced replacement - and probably standard spec items. I believe that RX Turbo ones fit sweetly as well?

If anyone has one - the best way to contact me is via email.

I'll have one in the workshop but unable to get it for 3 weeks.. if you haven't found anything by then, just give me a shout.
