Why don't you save up for a few weeks and get one of those front LSD's that I got from the US, about $440 or less delivered, then find a 4.1 cw&p to match your rear diff.

That's all we did except with 4.44's...there was a small problem of gears hitting but 10 min on the lathe shaving a little off the crown wheel sorted that, you're always going to have to watch 1st throwing that extra torque through it as it's fairly thin but otherwise all the other gears are the same thickness as what's in a WRX.

I've gone from roughly 2,600rpm @100kph to about 3,200 which is why I've left the stock muffler on the back even though it's a 3" TBE up to it, I think the noise from the extra revs would drive me nuts on the freeway I've even bought the uber sexiest twin tip muffler from hell & it's just sitting there.

I think you were reading my mind... Time for another rum...

Changing the pinion shaft is really easy - you'll understand once you pull the gearbox apart. The pinion shaft is held on the lower gearset with one or two nuts, they can be hard to crack, but once loose they're easy to work with. Once this is undone just slide the pinion shaft out of the lower gearset, and replace with the 4.11 pinion shaft and the required bearings, do the nut up tight, lock it in and you're done for the pinion shaft... The ring gear is pretty much the same as the rear diff when you drop an LSD centre in there.

With the 4.11 or 4.444 diff ratio you will need to shaft the ring gear to fit the L series low range in. PeeJay has done this and there's a thread about it in either the conversions section or this part of the forum - pretty sure its a sticky too.

Or if all of this is too difficult you could get a sticker made up with 4.11 and stick it on the back of your rear diff. That should do the trick! :p

But I think you're at the point where you need to get your hands dirty, split a gearbox then ask some questions if you have any ;)

But I still recommend the sticker
