JDM outback auto gearbox diff ratio???

Post by guyph_01 » Thu May 12, 2011 12:21 am

Hi guys,

After reading a few posts on how to know the ratio of a gearbox that doesn't come accompanied with a rear diff i'm thinking that the box i have from my gen3 Lancaster ' jdm outback' only sent to Russia by the looks of it is a 4.44.

AUTO Trans num: TZ1B4ZKDAA.
I just need to find out to be able to sell it and your help identifying it would be much appreciated:)

Also what would they reasonably be worth with 140,000k's on it?
Thx

If its from a 2.5l it will be a 4.44 - not sure about the 3.0l though.

Generally autos are worthless. I gave Dane the auto foz box when I sold him the motor from it, and by the looks of it he is taking it to the tip.
I would hazard a guess that if you got $200 you would be doing well...

Late model autos are generally 4.44 but best to drain the front diff oil and count for yourself.

As for the price.. I'd call the wreckers and get a rough idea. I'm thinking $500 would be a fair price for a late model box.

ah yes the simple act of punctuation and capitalisation ...

“I'm going to help my uncle Jack, off a horse” and “I'm going to help my uncle jack off a horse”.

if you have the computer and loom that goes with it about 300-400 dollars for that box Guy

and yep a wrecker will want between 600-800 dollars without the computer

Despite what a wrecker would want for one, I doubt it's going to return you any money. I've been in this position before, perfectly good Auto forsale. Mine was a relatively common one so I had the luxury of finding somebody willing to take it off me for free, but that was after months of being forsale. I even had to deliver it. You might have to find a nice hole somewhere to bury it, even a scrap metal place won't take it with oil all through it.

Yep, or if you've got a few hours and don't mind making a huge mess with ATF, you can strip it for lots of good bolts.
