Shifter bushes
Shifter bushes
Hey guys
I really want to tighten up the feel of my shifter as theres heaps of play at the moment and i want a solid feeling everytime i shift instead of the average sloppy shift. I saw these;

they're only 50bucks so they're pretty cheap but would it do a lot?
Thanks
Jimmy

I just put these Kartboy bushes in my car (along with the rear shifter stay bush). I bought the kit for $95. I bought it to repair the shifter play. They made the shifting tighter, but they DIDN'T fix the play in the shifter linkages! The play is in the uni joint. There was absoulutely nothing wrong with my old rubber bushes.
Picture of the uni joint.
My uni joint doesn't have a nut and bolt, its a pressed pin type thing so i couldn't do much with it without removing the hole shifter assembly and replacing the pin. Its been covered on here before that you drill out the hole for the bolt (10mm bit) and replace it with a 10mm bolt and do it up really tight, so you have no rubber bush in there at all.
