L front shaft length question

Post by brumbyrunner » Fri Feb 20, 2009 11:13 pm

Can anyone tell me the length of a front L series driveshaft? Not with joints on it, just the bare shaft. It should be 23 spline unless it's off a part time turbo manual in which case it should be 25 spline.

I only have one and it measures 453mm which confuses me as all my MY fronts are 451mm long. Surely they are not the same? The rears are very different lengths.

brumbyrunner sounds like you actually have another MY shaft there. A few mm here and there is the subtle difference between models.

Thanks guys, I thought the shaft I had came out of my L series but it must have got mixed up. Matataks shaft is 42-44mm longer than the MY which is consistant with the rears that are 37mm longer.
