clutch cable
clutch cable
Does anyone know if there is a difference between MY and L series clutch cables? mine snapped and i couldnt find any MY's at the wreckers. so i've got a L series one. thought i'd check here before i go and install the cable in the carpark of a train station. (really bad timing happened 50k's from home)

You can use it, but it requires a bit of work. You just have to take your pedal box out - 6 bolts, 3 circlips to remove pedals, 1 elctric plug for brake lights and take clutch pedal off before you remove the box. Takes 5 mins. Then just drill 2 holes and mount bolts through them to brace the pedal-end of the L-series clutch cable next to the clutch pedal mounting. Then put the pedal box back in. L-series cable is a bit longer so you will have to route it slightly differently. Did the whole thing in half an hour for fitting to an L-series box in an MY.

i have a spare if you are willing to pay for the postage. It shouldnt be much as there is no weight. Let me know if you wont it .

This reminds me of my dads 1990 EA Falcon, its a beast of a car but where the clutch cable goes through the firewall jsut 'fell' out one time he was in perth... he was able to drive from perth to home up in kalamunda with no clutch, i was amazed when he showed me, but he did tell me it took him a rather long time...
