Hello
I found a dual range transmission here in the usa from a 1997 jdm 2.0 turbo legacy. Can anybody tell me what the gearing is. The trans ID says
64-ty752x1dca. Since its a turbo does it have 4.11 gearing or is it like the older 91 turbos that had like 3.7 or 3.9 gears. It comes with: tranny, linkages, drive shaft, rear diff and halfshafts. Is there anything else I need to get so it will just bolt right in. I have a 97 impreza. Is there any problems Im going to run into with using a jdm transmission in my usa impreza. Will it plug into my tranny harness and run of my tcu if the manual has one. Does the turbo use different axles in the tranny or the rear diff, like do turbos have a different spline count or are the axles different lengths or diameters. Also is a dual range tranny longer then a normal awd ej tranny, will it bolt up with my crossmember and my standard impreza parts. They don't have the center console, so I think I could just mod a ea82 console to work or just mod a regular impreza console.
If this won't bolt right in I don't think I'll have the time right now to mess with it. So post up any info you all can think of.
Also thanks again for all the help with my other posts, and thanks in advance for any help with this post

Hey mate, a few questions there...
The one I'm confident with is about the lenght of the two boxes. So long as they're both 5 speeds they should be the same lenght. The dual range gears are in the gearbox just behind the bell housing. You'll see a different shape between the two gearboxes at that point.
That's about all I could help you with... If you're after a console I don't see why you can't ship one out from here or NZ - just gotta find someone that'll do it...
And the L 4wd lever is a different design to that of the liberties - you may be better off looking at an MY setup as this is the same sort of lever setup that the liberties use.
Cheers
Bennie
