Rust Repair

Whats the best way to repair rust behind the cab, where the tray meets.
Just found out how dodgy the previous owner was

The ute tray had been sprayed with a liner, looked great....but he had covered the rust at the front of the tray with fibreglass!!! A single sheet of fibre with some resin, nice smooth surface to spray a rough texture ute liner on it.
Nothing for it but to sandblast it all back, but whats the best repair?

I would be interested in this too... I was going to attack it from inside the cab by removing the trim behind the seats. Its not bad rust, just a few bubbles. I was going to cut it out from inside the cab against the back wall? Does that sound right.?

Always the BEST way to repair rust is to cut the area out and weld new metal in to replace it. You'd want to cut a fair way past where the rust is to be sure, then use plenty of rust killing acid then coat in rust kill paint.
You can treat the existing metal in rust-converter if it isn't too bad but at the end of the day this is at best a stall.

are there good how-to's on rust repair online? i'm sure there are, but i havent been able to find a decent one

Im tipping this repair will require some fabrication as well....will wait till I have it all stripped back to see.
