Lift kit - exhaust issue

Post by D3V1L » Mon Mar 31, 2008 8:34 pm

hey guys...upon close inspection of what ive got ahead of me..ive realised that my outback has some interresting headders on the exhaust that come up and down into the engine bay like a turbo up and dump pipe withouyt the turbo.....odd...didnt know this existed..

my dilemma is that if i do the body lift this will foul the steering extension linkage....wtf am i suppose to do about this??

i am not getting ej22 headders caus where the cross member sits and all that they will hang down FAR too low and be a major low point on the car....

anybody else had this problem?? i dont really want to be spending too much money on the thing caus its gonna be tight on funds as it is...im hoping just bashing the thing may clear it but i have my reservations

any ideas??
cheers
dave

you just gonna have to get it modified to fit. If your tight on funds then wait until you can afford it.

as you have noticed the 2.5 headers give way better clearance than trhe 2.2, so stick with them

The headers you speak of wont be fouled on the steering extension.

Would the EJ22 headers really be that much of a low point? People don't seem to complain too much about them when using Liberty's offroad surely?
This should be counteracted abit too with your proposed larger tyres.

they are the lowest point of my front end, that said they dont give me any trouble offroad (they have a few dents though ;) )
