Hi all , fuming ATM and have to let it out .
Overnight some useless footpad decided to rub along Ellie's RHS guard and damaged the indicator light and bumper bar . Fuming because I have to hunt parts up at Pick & Payless to make it look straight again .
I reckon I'm up for the bumper bar , indicator assembly and the black horizontal trim piece low down on the guard itself . It'll possibly need the filler piece that fits behind and above the bumper . I think the guard could be made to look normal again because the paint isn't broken and its just pushed in a little slightly behind the bumper bar .
Anyway unlike the back of a L series sedan the front bits should not be too hard to find .
Thanks for listening , cheers A .

Yeah that sh!ts me when someone is that careless and doesn't own up cos they're a coward.
Parts may not be hard to get but its your time and money thats being used to fix a problem caused by some careless idiot.

That sucks. Got one nearly as bad dropped my brumby off to get a steering alingnment on saturday asked to get a 2 degrees castor and 2 degrees camber put on also( Mine is all adjustable) As i put a reco steering rack on friday. So i say just lock the keys in the car ill grab the car on my way home later in the arvo. As we going shopping.Ill pay now so that its all done when i pick it up later. Come back bout 4 hours later. Its got a note on the steering wheel saying.
Hi Clint
We were unable to do a wheel alingment as lower control arm bolt and nut was stripped. We have welded nut and bolt to chassis rail. This car is very dangerous to drive.
Any Queeries ring me.......
Queeries alright now i have had to inconviece gf take a day off work to fix up a gorrila giping a holes mistake from stripping a bolt. No phone calls etc
They were the last people that did the wheel alingment.
There is no way It woulnt have held an alignment with bolt stripped.

That annoys me when someone drives off without leaving a note on your windscreen... ages ago someone rammed my car (I think it was a ute tray because of the shape of damage) and I saw that he (I was happy to see it until I read it) left a note behind saying... "oops sorry mate!" and I was so furious about it, had to dig up insurance, oh man it was a big headache as it wasn't my fault and had to get it assessed - for that damage took me 3 months to get it fixed going backwards and forwards, panel beaters because the quote expired and getting it assessed so on I was getting really pissed off for the f**kers who hits your car and doesn't leave message behind...
Recently my brother's car got hit by a 4WD and he drove off leaving front end damage and I asked the security for CCTV and they provided me the tape and went to the Police and I had another copy of CCTV to the insurance and he didn't pay a cent! - thanks to CCTV.
Cheers

We sorta had the same thing. Sent a brumby in for a RWC assessment. On the way home it developed a serious knocking as if a CV was quickly on the way out. Turned out the dude that did the RWC didn't put the front left tyre on properly - three nuts were loose enough for me to undo them with my fingers!
I didn't like his roadworthy writeup either. He says a rear main needed to be done and the way he wrote it was as if he was rubbing his hands together waiting for us to ask him to do the work. There's nothing wrong with the rear main seal

!!! Check with your RTA. I think NSW RTA say inspections are to be visual and hands on but not remove wheels etc.

Thanks to P & PL now have an Ok front bumper/filler strip and RHS indicator assy . Would be good to know how to remove the paint pen number they put on it and every removable panel on that L .
Donor car poped its washer and took a slash down one leg - last act of defiance ?
L's don't seem to give up without a fight , cheers A .

This was the Road Worthy Certificate where a mechanic certifies that the car is suitable for road use. This includes assessing the brake conditions - hence the need for the tyre to come off.
At the vic roads inspection office they only have to site the car and the engine number, maybe the VIN too just to clarify...

Good to hear you got replacement parts, to remove the paint pen marks try spraying som RID mozzie repellant on it and wiping off..sounds odd I know but the propellant is hydrocarbon (basic fuel) and as long as you don't let it sit too long it won't stain the plastic. Works just as well on glass too.

I've got some of that , tends to rub mozzies out too I think .
I think the main part of my bumper may be recoverable but the offside bracket must be partially broken .
I ran out of time yesterday and today was a wipe out so back tomorrow .
Just for the record , the trim bit low down on the side of the guard - are they all the same early and late ? Sort of black or faded to dark grey plastic thing with the silver stripe . Mine has a big white rub mark on it so no good .
Hope the culprit was droving something expensive ...
Cheers A .
