Picked up striaght away... yep already said above...

Reminded me, I went to an card yard it had WRX body kit, bonnet etc... and I thought "wow its cheap for WRX and I thought why its so cheap", it was $16,500 that time... it was WRX blue and heavily converted GX to WRX. So I went to inspect, open up the bonnet, the salesman wasnt happy with me "touching the car and open the bonnet and he was very shifty... so I opened it up and picked up straightaway, it was EJ18 engine with dual range box (because I was looking for the cooler under the bonnet and it didnt have one and saw EJ18 stamped on engine under power steering/alternator) and under the bonnet was maroon paint (factory colour for it because I pulled the carpet under the dash and was same colour) whereabouts outside was all WRX blue..... I said you're selling dodgy car.. he didnt say anything... so yeah interesting about seeing bogus cars in yards..
Cheers

There wasn't a huge difference in GX to RX anyway. LX was the pov-pack model - it didn't have airbags, or power windows. The other models had dual airbags. Going to a place like redbook you may be able to see the features and compare. Alloy wheels, ABS, front sports seats, body kit, badge and a few items of interior trim were different between the GX and RX. I don't have any brochures that old so can't help you there. To my knowledge there weren't many "options" available anyway.

Were you after a sedan or hatch and was it pre-August 99 or later?

RX standard features: 15" Alloy Wheels, 4 Speaker Stereo, ABS (Antilock Brakes), Adjustable Steering Col. - Tilt only, Airbags - Driver & Passenger (Dual), Body Colour - Bumpers, Body Kit - F&R Spoilers, Skirts, Rear Apron, Central Locking, Cruise Control, Engine Immobiliser, Fog Lamps - Front, Power Door Mirrors, Power Steering, Power Windows - Front & Rear, Radio Cassette, Remote Fuel Lid Release, Roof Racks, Sports Seats - 1st Row (Front), Tacho

not a bad looking wagon but $10g's a bit steep for a kit and rims on an otherwise std car, i only paid $14g for my 97 "WRX" wagon

Maybe u should get a wrx and "disable" the turbo somehow. Then when u are allowed a turbo car you have one already :)

cant, take off the turbo and you have a low compression engine that'd have no guts what-so-ever, it'd be slower than an n/a rx/gx.

it'd be better to buy a shitter and save your dollars till your off your P's, then buy a car you want and can drive

Yes effectively the RX was the closest thing to the WRX without the motor.
