How to mount a towbar?

Not really "troubleshooting" but I wasn't sure where to put this one...
Looking at getting a tow bar for my new suby and was just wondering how they're generally attached? Found one on a wagon at the wreckers that was bolted on, is this standard? Someone told me they were usually welded then I saw this one so I wasn't sure.
Also is the rear end of a wagon similar enough to a sedan for purposes of using the same towbar?
I don't intend on ever actually tow anything with it, it's just for carrying my bike.
Thanks in advance,
Tommo.

Bolt on, I wouldn't ever weld one, it just doesn't seem to be the right thing to be doing...

Wagon tow bars mount in many ways but all different to the sedan one which bolts to the rear bumper bolts and to under the rear floor.

There are lots of different types of Tow Bars, after 1985 I've never seen a tow bar being "welded" on!! I am not sure about Subaru (bec I've never fitted on on) but I know that wagons and sedans are different... Most of them are bolted on, sometimes car makers leaves an "hole punch" for locations to be drilled for an tow bar.
Cheers
