looks like my motor has to come out and have the head gaskets done, the car has been doing this on and off for a while but since it has warmed up it has gotten worse, do a long drive slow down or stop,
the temp goes up and it spits all the water out of the over flow, stop let the pressure out and refill it its ok for a few days then the same happens.
was down at the mechanics the other day and he out the sniffer thing on the radiator and a was positive for the gases!
no water in the oil but i think there has be oil in the water for a while.

All so get your radiator rodded while the engine's out, that way you know its clean with the fresh head gaskets and should be pretty hard to overheat unless your thermostat has carked it...

Don't just do gaskets. Spend the extra $100 and have the heads shaved to make sure they are flat.

If you dont know how many Ks are on that motor you may also consider a bit of a freshen up too

Buy a new motor, there's that many of them up your way surely they give them away nowadays?

Don't leave it too long - you run the risk of it sucking water into the bore as its cooling down. I did a head gasket at a track day at Winton this time last year in my BMW M5. It also blew the radiator with the pressure. $10,000 later things are fine again (and that was with me doing the labour).
I second the idea of a freshen up. Then you've got an engine you know is good.

yep getting the heads skimmed and putting most of the vrs kit in it, it has never really seemed to use ant oil so id say the rest is ok, cant wait to have it going good again. as for buying a new motor, all this stuff will need to be done in it at some stage any way!!
its getting a new clutch while its out so it will be a totally different car!!
