Hey so i got a brat that slowly lost power i checked every thing spark, fuel i rebuilt the carb, but then i thought i did it wrong so i just bought a new one $500 of racing power. But still the same im thinking its the vacume advance on the distributer but cant check it at the moment. What do you all think?

Have you checked the distributor points, unless it's electronic of course.

The vacuum advance mechanism can seize, just spray inside the dizzy with some WD40 or INOX and work it free with a screw driver or pliers from inside the distrubtor.

If it does have points make sure you keep them dry.

I hope that dribble makes sense.

it will sit there just fine but when you get it on the road it doesn't want to go anywhere.

Mine did a similar thing once and couldn't find exactly what it was but got the S---ts and did the plugs and everything but also pulled all the mongrel vaccuum lines off and joined them back up with a bit of silastic to each join no more problems. Just do them one at a time so you don't get stuffed up.;)

Now that you mention that I do remember having a T piece in one of my vacuum lines break, which caused the engine to run lean and lose power, it also pinged heaps.

Lightly spray some WD40 around (not on) your vacuum lines with the engine idling, if the revs change then you've found a vacuum leak.

do you know what a slipping clutch feels/sounds/smells like ?

rip h'brake on and drop clutch in gear, stall or just keep on revving there, in gear?
