wiring, running a/c fan all the time

Hi All,

new to the forum, so this may have been discussed before. I've just put air con in my 92 brumby, and with removal of pulley fan, and covering up of raditator with the air con type radiator, the old girl is running a bit warm. When running with air con on temp is fine, great in fact, which is a bit surprising, but likely due to fan running. I have new thermostat (160 deg), new water pump, new radiator etc, and she was a good temp prior to air con.

i am hoping to wire up the electric fan (not the thermo fan) that came with the air con so it can run all the time the car is running, not just when the air is on.

Any ideas on changing the wiring to do this?

Have a look at the Queensland Subaru Club website. It has some great old tech files there on just that. Even has a simple circuit diagram.

From memory all you should need to to is unhook the wire going to the temp sensor/switch in the radiator and hook it up to ign, or +'ve battery. Preferably you'd wire it through a relay with a switch so you can turn it off for water crossings etc.

Do what Stinky said, except connect it to ground not 12v.
