heater noises

My heater wont stop making gargling / sloshing noises since I put the EA82T in. I've been told its an air lock causing the problem, but short of putting a tap in one of the heater hoses so I can bleed the air I dunno how to get rid of it. Tried filling up the radiator with an extension bit of hose & the engine running but makes no difference.
Help appreciated, this is really starting to annoy me.

Should bleed out the normal way. Just leave the radiator cap off and let the car idle to normal temperature and keep it that way for a while. Be sure to have the heater in the on position and all the bubbles should make their way out the radiator cap.

yeah i've tried all this. I've left it for bout 20 mins idling with the cap off but it doesnt work. It seems to shlosh / gargle more when the car is hot & doesnt make any difference if the heater is on or off.

Is your heater tap opening?

Heater tap? Since when does 'L' series have a heater tap??
They are like the liberty, constant flow. A flap bypasses the air over/away from the heater core....

Check for bubbles in the coolant when you have it idling with the cap off. Hopefully you won't see any!!

no bubbles, the heater in the L turbo donor car never used to do it, only since i put it in my wagon

There is the possibility that the heater core tank/line has a small pin hole in it & its allowing air in the system. After the car reaches operating temp & then cools down it should draw any air out of the heater core & the over flow bottle should *technically* fill the radiator up...

Seen this a few times with other Subarus as well, factory built. You have a large air lock that may never bleed out. Take off one heater hose, stick a garden hose in it, turn on the tap, and let the hose bleed the system for you, you'll still get a tiny air pocket, but the tiny one will disappear.

Had all of these problems myself when I played with my heater
Did all the trouble shooting to no avail
. Out of sheer desperation I switch the heater hoses around on the heater box to REVERSE the flow thinking if anything was caught /loose /whatever may give some clue to whats happening.
Problem solved no more noises whatsoever. and the heater works perfectly dare I say better than before????

Also stick the car on a set of ramps up the front, this will help with any air in the system to the radiator and it also places the radiator higher than the engine... works for me
