Sagging Rear Suspension

Post by bluesteel » Tue Jan 02, 2007 10:17 am

im having some trouble getting the rear suspension to stay up in the brumby.

what happens is...

wind the torsion bar round so you need some to jack up the end to bolt it in place, this gives a good 10 or so inches clearance to the rear guard.

let it back down and it all stays in about that spot

go for a drive and get some decent flex and wheel travel and the back end sits within about an 1" of the guard

it seems to be slipping splines on the torsion bar or something? but when all pulled apart theres no damage to the inner or outer splines. tried marking the outer splines to check for slippage and there was none. dont know how to mark the inner and check it.

have tried swapping a different torsion bar tube, inner spline thingy, torsion bars and end plates, and it still does the same thing:confused:

does anyone have any suggestions as to why it might be doing it or a possible fix?

im not too sure about puting in l series coulovers as im trying to keep as much wheel travel as possible.

cheers

Make sure you keep the torsion bar matched to the end plates. I had trouble with slipping when I didn't change the end plates.
