Air-Con & micro-leak

Post by fredsub » Tue Dec 19, 2006 8:52 pm

a question a mate asked about, how you go about finding a micro leak in the gas,
such that the air-con needs to be re-gassed every year.
I guess the worry is, he take it to a specialist, and they take hours to find it, @$60+ /hour.....not worth it - just regas it.

Any advice?

Normally if you are getting a leak that takes a while to let the gas out (a year) it will be the seal on the front of the compressor

I think you put a uv dye in the gas and use a uv light to see where it's leaking.
