Indicators Not Working.

Post by BlackMale » Thu Nov 30, 2006 4:04 pm

Sounds like our rig is falling apart doesn't it.

It would appear that the indicators and hazard have stoped working.

I have had a look at the fuses and they all seem to be ok, I even swap a few of them and nothing, the dash clock and other lights etc are also working fine so my initial guess is that something in the stalk had gone KaPut.

Sorry about the lack of info but that's about it.
Any ideas?

I dont know if this applies to more modern cars, but i lost indicators on my 1969 renault once upon a time. Turned out to be the little "flasher" unit for the indicators- just a small plastic box with a few relays in it. A universal replacesment was like $5 from Repco.
Don't know if this is the problem in your case though...

Yeah does sound liek the fasher unit if u have lost the hazards also... unlikely to have a fault in both the hazard and indicator switch.

Usually the flasher unit will speed up or slow down the ticking before dying. Replacements can cost as much as $20, so don't be surprised if its that much.

Check to see if the plug to the hazzards has not come out, if hazzards are not connected nothing will work.

taking that into account im sure if the hazard light switch went faulty then this would also cause the problem described.... U have a spare L series Jaffa... start swapping stuff.

Remember that in Leones the flasher relay is integrated with the indicator stalk behind the steering wheel and is not one of those cheap plug in relays. You'll need to take the steering wheel off to replace it.

if it flashes with the alarm then the fault is before the wires leave the flashing unit... backing up our idea of it being flasher unit or switch.
