Post by waggaclint » Thu Nov 23, 2006 8:47 pm

and were it bolts up to the crossmember looks alot smaller and i dont think it will bolt straight in.....what do ya all reckon has anyone done this or seen it before....my car is a 91model and the p/steering came of a 87model i think....

You will need the PS clamps and rubbers to bolt it in but it will bolt in. Check to see if you have a plate thats welded under the X member, if it is you will have to remove the spot welds and bolt it back in

You should be able to reuse the plate if you remove it carefully

oh that plate it already has bolts in it....im talking about were the rack accually bolts up hey..there is a cut out in the xmember (like a half moon)that the sits in and then bolted up..but the p/steer rack i have is twice the diameter of the manual rack so it would just bolt in like the manual one it will accually sit lower and not in the cut out(with the half moon)....
