water pump

just wondering what is involved to get ur water pump mine has shat it self and trying to get it out seems like a bit of a struggle any info would be great cheers

from memory you need to remove all those plastic engine covers.
which if your doing it in the car involves removing alternator/aircon (to access stuff) and radiator fan. and the belts. Then there are four quite long thing breakable bolts holding it in.

Hey riby,
You'll have to remove the Air con and alternator. These can come out as one unit (put in battery bay - don't take off the air con hoses), just gotta find all the bolts, there's one under the AC unit that has a slotted hole that doesn't need to come all the way out, one under the alternator, one on the inlet manifold and the belt runner for the AC belt is also one of the holding bolts.
Your power steering if you have it will have to come out.
Best to do all this without the radiator in, just avoids damage and gives you more room.

and the list goes on...timing belt covers, both timing belts ( I think) and maybe, just maybe , the plastic timing belt back plate

i think you can get it out without removing the timing belts..
