efi fault code?

do EFI type L-series wagons have a fault code setup like turbo's etc......

yes and a lot of the codes are the same as the liberty ones.

where do you look for them.................is it like an early turbo MY that i saw once , that just had a flashing led on the side of the ecu? car isnt with me at moment so i cant have a look and i only recently aquired the car and im unfamiliar with the efi model. is there an all systems ok code???

it has check connectors, green and black you connect ,can't remember which ones are which.Then the check engine light starts flashing.Long flashes are the tens .Short flashes are the other part of the number.Yeah the light on the side of the ecu will also tell ya.

check connectors......what the hell are check connectors? shit i must sound dumb. will have a
look at the ecu tomorrow whats the standard alls ok setting.

they are just plugs you connect together to check fault codes.usually hanging loose near the ecu.

These will be above the drivers feet and allow you to read stored fault codes with the engine off. One will give the the "Aust spec" flash of seven short, the other will give you stored codes. One of these will operate the fuel pump intermittently. There is also meant to be a set of plugs under the bonnet near the vacuum resivouir to clear the memory (can't find any on my loom) or you can disconnect the battery for a minute.

The ECU is located on the steering column and the LED should beable to be viewed through the gap under the steering column.

My ECU doesn't give me proper codes most of the time, one code seems to blur into another, long flashes and short flashes aren't ever the same, but that's just my car. I'm happy with the way it runs so i've ignored it (and haven't put the "check engine" light in the dash yet :( )

Prob should check it again as it's been a while...
