Would a code 24 cause fast idling then a drop to low idle sometimes, then idle alright ,shut down restart back to fast idle.I thing its a idle air valve or something can it be cleaned instead of replaced? This is for a ej 22.

24 is the BAC so good guess. Get some Upper engine cylinder cleaner and spray some in the bypass air controller and leave it for 20mins then start it also spray it in the and around the throttle body to make sure it is returning fully and not causing the throttle to be "shut" at different points

I have found that after an EJ has been given a new home the jarring when manouvered causes the little bits of carbon to float around giving grief until you get it out

Turned out to be something wierd going on with the ign relay powering up that part of the lo0m .pulled it out tested it put in again and it works.

yes and no i thought i was rather clever when i made a mount for the fuel and ign relays except it is behind the multi junction box.Now they are just hanging in the wind.

Well for some strange reason Subaru thought it best to hide the most used relays in one of the hardest places to get to so you are in good company mounting them out of reach in the first place
