L-series tow ball thread?

Post by Alex » Tue Aug 15, 2006 9:06 pm

gday all,

today i thought...geez that black tow-ball looks crappy, so i went out and bought a chrome one, only to find the threaded shaft is too fat!...its 50mm and as far as i know they are all 50mm?

can i file out the hole so it will fit? or will that weaken the towbar?

thanks

My tow bar on the Vortex was the same so i put a round file in the drill and reamed it out to the right size.

My one seemed to have the same problem, the ball shaft slides in all the way except for about 3mm. I just whacked the nut on there and kept tightening it until it popped in to sit nice and tight. Was a bitch to get out again for snatching though....hehehe.
