Hi all,
my 89 L series slowly developed this fault, the low beam would sometimes go off then come back on. Now they're gone altogether.
I've checked the combination switch, works perfectly. When on high beam, two of the three leads to the headlights show current as I would have expected, but on low beam all three do.
Could this be a problem with the relay?
Thanks,
Puttingau
no low beam
I had a smiliar problem on my L series, it turned out to be the dimmer switch on the steering column - it was all gunked up inside and not maker proper contact. I took the steering wheel off and cleaned it all out and that fixed it.

Different to your problem ... but I had an '85 Touring Wagon years ago where the low beam on both sides just blew (the actual filament within the bulb), on two seperate occasions, about 6 months apart.
Pissed alot of people off when I had to drive home with high beam, both times.
