Jetting 32/36Weber on ea81

I have fitted a 32/36 Weber (off a Cortina) to the ea81 in my Manx style Beach Buggy. I can't get it to run smooth just above idle i.e. when driving at 60kmh (about 1500rpm). The engine is very stuttery. I have 65 primary idle jet and 145 primary main. Has anyone fitted a similar carb to their ea81 amd what jets were they using?

according to the old printout of the carby guide from the old site, here are the following reccomendations for the EA81:

Subigiraffe's: prim main: 132, sec main: 130, prim air: 160, sec air: 165, prim idle: 50, sec idle: 55
(EA81, 2 1/4" zorst, emulsion tubes F66 x 2 (cortina carb))

Subanator's: prim main: 132, sec main: 130, prim air: 175, sec air: 135, prim idle: 55, sec idle: 50
(EA81...??? mods)

hope that helps

Thanks very much....I'm beginning to think there must be a problem with my carb. I've stripped and cleaned it a couple of times, last time professionally with little or no change. Similarly the jet changes I've made so far have made little difference.????? I'll keep lookingfor answers.

Check the primary idle jet is clear - and hasnt got anything blocking it. You might want to change the size of this jet and see what happens

Check that the base of the carb is FLAT. If not, the motor will run lean and you will never get a good jet setting. With some fine water paper and a nice flat surface (or a piece of glass and some grinding paste) you can flatten the base to ensure an air tight seal against the manifold...

boowoogum, in the links below, the main troubleshooting related problem is vacuum problems. Hope these provide some help and information:
