hi all

there is something very suss going on...when the engine is very cold, the brake fluid light comes on, when the engine gets some heat, and i hit the brakes it goes off. Fluid levels are at about 3/4 full

wtf?

Simple. You're on the borderline of where the low fluid sensor activates. When the brake fluid warms up (from braking) it expands. So when its cold its under the sensor and when its warm its over it.
Top up the fluid just a tad and the light will stop flickering. Happens to me now and again in my wagon.

When my wagon does this I also find it lights up if I slam the brakes on or corner way too fast...

No that is NOT a daily occurence, before any cheeky punter gets in and says it is

When you have the lid off the brake fluid push the rubber lid seal diaphram back into the lid and push the piston up and down a few times. If there is black dust in there it would be a good time to change the fluid

sometimes just turning the lid slightly so it sits in a different position will stop thelight coming on too.

Also happens if your pads are worn to the limit (and thus the fluid is low)
