Weber install - where do I run the dizzy vac advance line from?

As per the title, the L had a new weber 32 36. Runs great so far but can't nut out where to run the vac advance for the dizzy from. Removed that series of thin piping from under the manifold where I used to come from.
At the moment I have it plug into a spot on the manifold but when you give it throttle the dizzy actually retards, as opposed to advancing. So.. Where do I port it from?

on the base of the weber there should be a brass pipe like this photo
stolen from
here (nothing to do with subarus)
thats the one the vacuum advance hooks up to.
At the moment you have constant advance using the manifold vacuum.

James,
Your Weber should have a ported spark nipple on the side of the primary barrel.
Have you set your timing while the vac advance is connected to manifold vacuum?
If that is the case, disconnect your vac advance line and plug it, then set your timing to 8-10 BTDC, then reconnect the line. The timing will then go up to around 20 at idle.
If you open the throttle suddenly, it probably retards because of low vacuum prior to the mechanical curve advancing.

Awesome. Thanks for such a quick response guys!
Toonga, are you talking about the brass pipe directly below the manual choke mech?

yep thats it if you connect your advance to anywhere else you are only going to damage your dizzy and engine.

Weber is in place and running great. I also went through and removed all the old emissions and vac stuff I no longer need. Finally some space to work in the engine bay
What a difference it makes to everyday driving: smooth idle, much more responsive under foot and a noticable improvement in power too (mostly torque at low revs)!
Very happy.
