Rear wheel bearing noise

I have a oscillating thumping sound in the rear of the car when going slowly (like a heart beat). I think its worse when slowing down from speed rather than speeding up from a stop.
My fear is that its a wheel bearing, how right would I be with the given symptoms?

Can be a number of things and only by listening to exactly where the noise is coming from will you be able to work out what is causing it. Most common problem is tyres, even if they are in good condition they may not be that good. Most times it's tyres that have sat around for a long time and after using them again, they start to 'lift' the treat. Best to get the car on a hoist and run the engine and box in 4th gear and check for abnormal things.

Tyres are shiite so that's most likely the issue

I'm getting new ones next week so I'll see how it goes, thanks

I'm getting them replaced once I find a suitable alternative

I would still check for a screw or something else in the tyre....

+1 on crapped out tyre. In meantime try alternating positions of tyres on car and see if it moves. Barings don't normally cause an oscillation
