Hi all,
I went on the hunt for the fuse under the dash for the aircon.... just went in blind and this is all I could find... any idea what it is? and where the fuse normally is?
Drove through sydney at 1pm Saturday - so damn hot - that spurred my hunt for working air con.

I found it on the Aircon switch behind the climate control panel..
Cheers.

Thats not a fuse, its a diode to only allow current to flow in in one direction.
The end that has the white circle around it is the output.
The fuse is usually located near the battery.

Thanks Tambox
I literally am blind on electrics.. no idea. so yes. Thank you for clearing that up!
I have heard a few time that a fuse may be located near the steering column so had a look then spotted this. Maybe Ill leave it to someone who knows whats going on!

AS the ac is an optional extra on most MYs, you will find there is a fuse connected to the +ve lead of the battery.
Then there are pressure switches, either one or two, depending on the system. These will stop it from working if there is not enough gas pressure or to much gas pressure.
Usually there is one located near/on the receiver/dryer (black, looks like a stubbie connected to your ac pipes, behind/on LHS strut tower).
If it is not the fuse, unplug, then short out the contacts on the loom to the rec/dryer.
If it works then you have a gas problem.

Dont continue to run it with the pressure switch bypassed as it will destroy your compressor. ( thanks to other people on this site for reminding me to explain everythiing)
I hope I have covered it all.

Mine had a fuse under the dash near the bonnet release lever. White wire connected to it - not sure what guage but it was thicker then most of the rest of the wiring - should be easy to spot if its there.

Ok found one fuse under dash near bonnet release lever - white wire
Cheers Niterida
Another off the positive lead of the battery - 15Amp broke it too...
Also Tambox - this reminds me that when I visited my mechanic he shorted it out, power to the condenser or whatever it is and the aircon clutch kicked in.. so maybe that points to the gas hey!
Thanks for the help!!
