Brake Fluid Light

Post by 555Ron » Sun Dec 02, 2012 5:31 pm

My 1991 Brumby has started to have an intermittent issue with the brake fluid light. It comes on usually after being parked and it will eventually turn itself off - seems to be after going up a hill. I've taken the cap off and the float seems to free. Does anyone know how the switch mechanism works on this - if it is repairable? I have recently had the dash out but I don't think it is the loom or the dash. Or does anyone have a spare cap with the wiring loom?

Ohh, and the fluid level is full.

The light not only lets you know that the fluid is low it tells you if there is a leak in the system. My vortex has a leaky front left caliper ( it comes and goes normally in winter) and when it leaks and loses pressure the light comes on.
