L Series not running above 60 Km hr

Post by Matt » Thu Nov 22, 2012 5:03 pm

Quick background... It is a L Series Touring Wagon, EA82 with an auto behind it. Basically the car won't get above 60 km / hr. I have checked (with a wide sensor) the lambada aka air/fuel ratio and it seems about right across the rev range under load. Replaced the Plugs, oil, oil filter, Dizzy Cap and Rotor. Any thoughts? It seems to be above 2500 rpm in 2 or 3 gear in the auto, first u can usually rev it to close to red line?

Yep.. I'm going with fluid level in the auto trans.

When engine is running and the gearbox is in neutral, check the fluid level on the dip stick. There should be marks for whether or not the car is hot or cold at the time. Also be looking at the colour of the fluid, it should be a nice pinky colour. If it's a dark red colour then best to change it.

Fuel Filter it was, but have given her a really good service now, including the auto and you would swear it was a different car to drive :)
